This article explains how Silverfin handles archived nominal accounts coming from Xero, and what you can do with them during the sync.
Do archived Xero accounts still sync to Silverfin?
- After you archive unused nominal accounts in Xero, you may wonder whether they still sync to Silverfin. They do: archived accounts are still synced.
- Although these accounts no longer hold value in Xero, Silverfin syncs all client data, including transactions from archived accounts. Leaving them unmapped can cause an unbalanced warning and affect your balance sheet. For the full set of checks, see How do I resolve an unbalanced file?
- To help you spot them, Silverfin adds (archived) next to these accounts on the mapping screen.
How should I map an archived Xero account?
You have two options:
- Map it as a live account if the account was used recently.
- Map it to a suspense account if it has not been used for some time and you are confident it will not affect current or prior year figures.
Mapping archived accounts this way keeps your data accurate and your balance sheet in order in Silverfin.
