How can I set up synchronisation with AFAS at the office level?

To set this up, follow these steps. Please note this can only be done by users who have admin rights in Silverfin.

  1. Go to the start page in Silverfin. At the top left click on the tab 'Syncs'.
  2. In the next screen, you'll find a green button on the right labeled 'Add new sync'.
  3. Choose AFAS sync from the drop-down menu and click 'Connect'.
  4. Fill in the Name, Token and Environment ID.

How can I obtain a Token?

Step 1: Add the App Connector

  1. Log in to AFAS.
  2. Navigate to General>Manage>App connector.
  3. Click on New.
  4. Add a new App connector using these settings:

        a. Description: Silverfin

        b. Automatically generate token: Yes

        c. Create a new user group: Yes

        d. Create a new user: Yes

Step 2: Add GetConnectors

  1. In the App Connector wizard, proceed to the next step for adding GetConnectors.
  2. Click Actions > Import to import the GetConnectors found at the bottom of this article (in the attachment).

Step 3: Generate a Token

  1. Click 'Finish'.
  2. Add generated Token in the synchronisation wizard.
Token should be added in the following format: <token><version>1</version><data>58A1C697C5F3476F838199C0412F625C4F2C46E4CEA6735454FDBB9EEBEBD48</data></token>

What is my Environment ID?

Your environment URL in AFAS looks like this: https://12345.rest.afas.online/.  The number part (in this example 12345) is your unique Environment ID.

How can sync my files with AFAS?

To link existing synchronisation with the client file, please perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the file and click on 'Edit client' button.
  2. Click on the 'Sync' tab.
  3. Click 'Set up Sync'.
  4. Choose one of the provided synchronisation scenarios.
  5. If you have chosen the first scenario, you will be promoted to set up sync transfer date.
  6. Choose the AFAS sync from the drop-down menu and a sync reference.

AFAS synchronisation faces challenges with large files and can be time-consuming. We don't currently foreseen any synchronisation updates. For large files, we suggest upload the data manually.
