This article explains how to activate  Silverfin integration that enables the submission of Personal Income Tax files to Tax-on-Web (TOW). It walks you through downloading individual or batch .TOW files, as well as key details to keep in mind when using the integration. Follow the steps below to get started and make the most of this functionality.

Activating the Integration

  1. As an admin user go to: https://integrations.getsilverfin.com and authorise the integration.
  2. Select the Personal Income Tax BE Integration  package.
  3. Click Enable Integration. 
  4. Once completed, the integration will be successfully activated.

How to Download .TOW Files

  1. From the Client Overview screen in a file, click on Actions button.
  2. Select Download data.
  3. Click 'XML - Belgian Personal Income Tax'.

You can then:

  • Download a .TOW file that’s ready for submission to Tax-on-Web.
  • Or Submit to TOW batch:
  • When you select Submit to TOW batch, you will be redirected to the dedicated integration page.
  • On the integration page, select the files you wish to include in the batch.
  • Click Download TOW file to generate a batch of .TOW files for submission via Tax-on-Web.
  • Download a batch of .TOW files and submit it on Tax-on-Web.

Good to know

  • If the integration is not activated, the Submit to TOW batch button will not appear under the Download data options.
  • Without the integration, you can only download a .xml file. However, you cannot submit a .xml file directly to TOW. Simply changing the file extension to .tow will not make it valid for submission.
  • Submitting to Tax-on-Web cannot be done directly from Silverfin. You must use the TOW platform after downloading the files.
