This article explains how to correctly fill in the 'Household' template within the working papers. This template provides a comprehensive overview of the structure, activities and processes of the company, and forms an important frame of reference for the financial statements, risk analysis and tax assessment.

What is the purpose of this template?

  • The Household template provides a central (non-mandatory) place to record client information when relevant to your firm. Within Silverfin, no further use is made of the data in this template. It is intended solely for your own internal recording of information about your client and is for internal use only.
  • This template provides a comprehensive overview of the structure, activities and processes of the company, and forms an important frame of reference for the financial statements, riskanalysis and taxassessment.

The recorded information:

  • Has no impact on the financial statements
  • Is not automatically carried over to other workflows
  • Serves purely as a central place for documentation, recording of agreements and internal context

How do I use this template?

The template is made up of several sections:

1. General 

Here you record the basic information of the company, such as:

  • Statutory name and registered office
  • Chamber of Commerce number
  • Legal form
  • Size of the company


Please note! Some data in the template is automatically pulled from the notes, company details and the general settings of the financial statements. Therefore, make sure to fill these in first before completing the household template, so that all information is correctly carried through.

2. Structure and ownership relationships

Describe here the organisational structure and involved parties, including:

  • Directors: legal entities or natural persons with voting right percentages.
  • Shareholders and their voting rights
  • Supervisory board or board of trustees
  • Group relationships and related parties

Please note: the first 3 points are taken from the 'Company information' template.

3. Relevant external factors

Record all factors that affect the company, such as:

  • Financing structure and planned investments
  • Contractual agreements with third parties
  • Specific regulations (environmental, governmental, industry-specific)
  • Any potential claims or litigation risks

4. Activities

Describe the core activities of the company, including:

  • SBI code, main group and subgroup
  • Description of activities
  • Type of company
  • Factors such as size, market position, stage of development, seasonal patterns and competition

5. Processes

Provide an overview of the key business processes, such as:

  • Inventory management
  • Sales and purchasing
  • Personnel 

For each process, you can add a description and additional notes.

6. Organisation administration

Record the administrative organisation here:

  • Responsible persons
  • Financial software used (e.g. Exact Online)
  • Integrations and specific processes
  • Frequency of internal reporting

7. Taxation

Record the tax context of the company, including:

  • Participation in horizontal monitoring
  • Fiscal unities for corporate tax purposes
  • Any tax audits (including date and party involved)
  • Special arrangements or points of attention from the Tax Authority

8. Annual accounts

Describe the accounting policies and key items of the financial statements:

  • Type of accounting basis (e.g. commercial or fiscal)
  • Notes on going concern
  • Significant items or risks

What should you pay attention to when filling in the 'Household' template?

  • Use the additional information fields to add documents or notes.
  • Uncheck any sections that are not applicable to this file, in order to keep the file clear and organised.
  • The Household template is often consulted during the preparation of the financial statements, risk analysis and tax assessment. Accurate completion saves time in later stages of the file.
