QuickBooks is moving to a new version of the connection that Silverfin uses to retrieve your data. We have adapted Silverfin to work with it and we expect your client files to be unaffected. We still want to let you know what is happening, so you can recognise it if a figure looks different.

When will this happen?

Intuit, the company behind QuickBooks, is making the move, and it is being released in phases from 1 September onwards. Intuit has not shared specific dates, and because the change takes place inside QuickBooks, we cannot predict when it will reach your files.

What differences might I see in my figures?

The new version is still being fine-tuned. The difference most likely to reach you is that a transaction can appear under a different account than you expect.

Intuit expects to resolve these issues before the new version reaches your files, so in most cases you should see no difference at all. We have adapted Silverfin wherever the difference is ours to correct, and we are following up the rest with Intuit directly.

What should I do if something does not look right in a QuickBooks file?

Let us know at support@silverfin.com or via chat. It helps a lot if you can tell us:

  • Which figure looks wrong.
  • What it should be according to your QuickBooks file.

A trial balance and a transaction history for the account concerned are useful too. We will take it from there and, where needed, raise it with Intuit through the case we already have open with them.

When will the notice disappear?

It will disappear as soon as Intuit and we can both confirm that everything is resolved. We are keeping it up until then, because the release happens in phases and some files may switch earlier than others.
