- Contributor rights can only be assigned at the client file level, not at the firm level.
- Only users added as external users at the firm level can be selected as contributors in a client file.
- Adding an External Contributor is a paid option.
- An admin user can remove contributor rights from a specific user at the firm level.
How to add an External Contributor at the client file level?
- On the client overview screen, click the 'Edit Client' button.
- Go to the 'Users' tab and click 'Activate'.
- Fill in the relevant details.
- If the 'Manage Access' option is ticked, an External Contributor user can add other External Contributors and Pulse users to a file. This feature must be activated in the office settings. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for assistance.
How to switch Pulse User to External Contributor?
User with admin rights can switch Pulse users having access to a client file to an External Contributors.
- On the client overview screen, click 'Edit Client' button.
- Go to the 'Users' tab.
- Click 'Edit' next to the Pulse user.
- Change their role to External Contributor.
- Click Save button.
Can internal Staff Contributor be switched to an External Contributor?
Internal staff users cannot have contributor rights.
