When processing car expenses, it's important to correctly deduct the benefit in kind (BIK) of company cars from the non-deductible expenses. This article explains step by step how to enter the BIK for cars in the "Fleet" template and have it automatically flow through to the "Car Expenses (Non-deductible Expenses)" template, ensuring it is processed correctly.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
The data entered in the "Fleet" template can flow into the "Car Expenses (Non-deductible Expenses)" template in the corporate tax workflow. To deduct the benefit in kind (BIK) of company cars from non-deductible expenses, you must subtract this benefit in the "Fleet" template. Follow the steps below:
Example:
Suppose you have a company car with a Benefit in Kind (BIK) of €8,187.65 per year. This BIK must be deducted from the non-deductible car expenses that you would normally include.
Steps:
Open the 'Fleet' template
- Here, you enter the details of your company cars, such as the make, model, and the BIK for each car.
Add a new column for BIK
- Add a column in the 'Fleet' template and name it "BIK". This is where you enter the BIK value for each car.

Link the correct 74 account

Select the account
- Click on the # symbol to select the 74 account, in this case, account 7400.
- Click on the # symbol to select the 74 account, in this case, account 7400.
Drag the 74 account to the correct column
- Drag account 7400 from the right column to the left column in the 'Fleet' template. This will link the BIK of the company car to the correct account.
- Drag account 7400 from the right column to the left column in the 'Fleet' template. This will link the BIK of the company car to the correct account.
The difference between the car expenses and the benefit in kind (BIK) is then included in the car expenses (non-deductible expenses) within the corporate tax workflow. The percentage of non-deductible expenses is calculated based on the car's data.
