What is the difference between a Pulse user and an External contributor?

Pulse user

  • Access level: Limited.
  • Customisation: The accountant determines the extent of access. Pulse users can, for example, view reports, take part in communication, and propose changes when the accountant requests them.
  • Ideal for: Clients or partners who need restricted access to specific parts of the client file.

External contributor

  • Access level:External contributors have limited access to the client file. Their permissions are similar to those of internal users, but with specific restrictions.
    • View: External contributors see a similar interface to accountants, except for access to specific functionalities such as 'Edit client'.
    • Capabilities: They can fill out templates, create reports and adjustments, and manage documents.

Which extra features does an External contributor have?

  • Bundles and exports: External contributors can generate bundles and exports using the default style bundle designed for External contributors. This style is mandatory.

Why would you add an External contributor?

The External contributor role is designed primarily for internal bookkeepers who require comprehensive access to the client file to perform necessary preparations. Instead of obtaining a direct licence from Silverfin, the internal bookkeeper accesses Silverfin through the accountant, who acts as an intermediary.
