Account templates in Silverfin help streamline the reconciliation process by providing a structured layout for reconciling accounts. If you need to update the template assigned to an account, follow the steps below.


Steps to Change an Account Template

  1. Go to the relevant account and relevant period. 
  2.  Click 'Actions' button and choose 'Edit' to modify the account settings.
  3. Open the account template dropdown menu.
  4. Choose the appropriate template for this account.
  5. Click 'Save' to apply the new template.

What should I do if previously entered data is missing?

  • Data Visibility: When switching account templates, previously entered data may no longer be visible.   
  • Data Is Not Lost: The data remains in the database, but if the custom variable names in the new template do not match those in the previous one, the system will not display the old data.
  • Restoring Previous Data: If needed, you can switch back to the previous template to restore the original view of your data.
  • Previous and subsequent periods: Account templates are only updated automatically for periods where no data had been entered.
