Silverfin can now fill in the fixed assets template (depreciation & investments) automatically, based on the data in your accounting package. When you open a file that synchronises with Exact Online, Silverfin Assistant proposes the fixed assets. This article explains what you need, how it works and which data is filled in.
Please note: this functionality is available on a limited basis while it is in a testing phase. The information below is not final and may still change.

What do you need?
To use the automatic fill, the file meets the following conditions:
- The file uses the Fixed assets template and the Depreciation & investment table account template from the marketplace.
- There is an active Exact Online synchronisation on the file. Other packages are not supported yet.
- Your firm has Silverfin Assistant.
How does it work?
You only need to review and confirm the proposed values, so you no longer have to retype data that is already in your bookkeeping.
- Silverfin Assistant checks whether fixed assets are present in Exact Online for this period.
- If data is available, the Assistant's question appears automatically on the account or in the fixed assets template.
- You confirm, and proposals are placed on the accounts.
- Click the 'Yes, prepare the proposals' button to retrieve the data and have the template filled in.
- Review the proposed values and confirm them (see Reviewing and confirming the proposal).
You can do this per account. Alternatively, the check on the fixed assets template lets you activate proposals on all linked accounts in one click. You then get a proposal per account, which you can still review and confirm.
Which data is proposed?
All data is filled in or ticked, apart from the PDF attachment.
Reviewing and confirming the proposal
- At the moment, the proposal screen shows all values before you confirm. That way, you stay in control.
- You can still adjust or overwrite any value.
- Confirm the proposal to fill in the template definitively.
Once the template is filled in, the usual template checks apply:
- Green dot: the total of the fixed assets matches the amount on the linked general ledger account. Everything is linked correctly.
- Red triangle: there is a difference between the fixed assets and the amount on the general ledger account. This difference still needs to be reviewed.
Changes after confirmation
If the data in Exact Online changes after you have confirmed a proposal, for example because of a new asset or an adjusted depreciation, the Assistant offers a new proposal. You can review and confirm that proposal in the same way.
Frequently asked questions
I do not see a proposal on the template. Why is that?
Check whether the file synchronises through Exact Online, whether the Assistant is active at your firm and whether fixed assets are actually registered in Exact Online for the financial year. If one of these is missing, no proposal appears. Run the synchronisation again to be sure.
Does this also work with Yuki or another package?
Not for now. In this version, the feature only works with Exact Online.
Can I still adjust the proposed values?
Yes. You can review, adjust or overwrite every value, including after you have accepted the proposal.
Does a new proposal overwrite my manual changes?
A proposal is shown, but you decide whether to confirm it. So review the values before you confirm.
