The Corporate Tax module in Silverfin centralises all relevant guidance and steps to help you prepare and submit your Biztax return accurately and efficiently. This article explains how to add the workflow to a file or client type, what configuration options are available, how to generate XBRL files, and if needed how to submit them in bulk. You’ll also learn how built-in validations and integrations with other templates support a smooth preparation process. Finally, you’ll find a complete overview of all available reconciliations within the module.

Adding a workflow to a file

If you want to use the corporate tax module for the first time in a file, you need to add the corporate tax workflow to that file. You can do this by clicking on “Add Workflow” in the file overview.

Adding a workflow to a client type (for admin users)

As an admin user, you can also set the Corporate Tax workflow centrally through the file template so that it is automatically available in all linked files.

  1. Go to templates > Client configurations > Client Types.
  2. Open the desired client type you want to modify.
  3. Scroll to the “Additional Workflows” section.
  4. Select BE Corporate tax (full version) > Corporate tax
  5. Click 'Update client type' button to save the changes.

From now on, the workflow will be automatically added to any file associated with this file template.

Configuration Corporate Tax (for admin users)

In addition, we offer the ability to configure corporate tax at the office level. The following article provides more information on how to do this practically: How do I get started with Corporate Tax Configuration?

Fleet

The Fleet is linked with the reconciliations Benefit in kind and the Car costs (Disallowed expenses).

The module also contains a lot of underlying links to the work file that you can find in this article.

Exporting the XBRL

Once the module is fully completed, you can generate an export file that you can submit through Biztax. Follow the steps below to do this:

  1. Go to the file overview.
Open the file for which you want to create the export file.
  2. Click ons “Actions” (right at the top).
  3. Select “Download data”.
  4. Choose the format:
    Select “Biztax – Corporate Tax

The file is then generated in the correct format and is ready to upload into Biztax.

Activate XBRL download directly in the workflow (for admin users)

Admin users can configure that the XBRL file can be downloaded directly within the workflow, without returning to the file overview.

Follow the steps below to set this up:

  1. Go to Templates > Client confugurations > Workflows.
  2. Open the workflow "Corporate tax".
  3. Scroll down to the “Export Files” section.
  4. From the drop-down list, select “Biztax - Corporate tax”.
Note: For workflows linked to the marketplace, this setting is selected by default.

Stars in the Corporate tax

Important to note: Silverfin automatically includes any disclosures that contain a value in the XBRL export. This means that the starring mechanism in the Corporate tax workflow does not work in the same way as in other Silverfin workflows. A template without a star can still be included in the XBRL if it contains data. This is because all templates within the Corporate Tax workflow are interconnected.

Checks

When you export the XBRL, Silverfin will run all the checks. If any part is out of order, you will be displayed an error message at that time:

Checks are also performed while completing the templates. Click on the red triangle to see the error message:

Biztax validation

In addition, there is the Biztax validation template, which helps prevent or clearly indicate possible errors via a red triangle in the file. This template also contains an overview of all validation errors currently present in the file. Thanks to convenient links, you navigate directly to the relevant reconciliations so that you can correct any errors quickly and specifically.

Submit in bulk

Bulk submitting is also possible, provided an integration is activated at firm level. Once this integration is enabled, an additional button appears under ‘Download data’. A maximum of 25 XBRL files can be processed per bulk. Once this number is reached, Silverfin automatically starts a new bulk.
