If you no longer need a client file, you can archive it. Archiving removes the file from your active view, so it may look as though it has been deleted. However, it is not permanently removed - our Support team can retrieve it for you if needed.

How to archive a client file

  1. Open the relevant client file.
  2. On the right-hand side, click Edit Client.
  3. On the edit page, click the Archive button.
  4. Confirm your choice when prompted.

What happens after a file is archived?

  • Archived files remain accessible in the background but will no longer appear in your active list.
  • Any archived file that is not reactivated within three years will be automatically removed by Silverfin.
  • Following contract termination, deletion of all files will take place in accordance with the agreement.
  • Archived files can only be restored by Silverfin staff. See the following article for guidance on how to restore an archived file.

Good to know

  • Only users with admin rights can archive a file.
  • If you do not have admin rights, please contact an admin user within your organisation.
