If you no longer need a client file, you can archive it. Archiving removes the file from your active view, so it may look as though it has been deleted. However, it is not permanently removed - our Support team can retrieve it for you if needed.

How to archive a client file
- Open the relevant client file.
- On the right-hand side, click Edit Client.
- On the edit page, click the Archive button.
- Confirm your choice when prompted.
What happens after a file is archived?
- Archived files remain accessible in the background but will no longer appear in your active list.
- Any archived file that is not reactivated within three years will be automatically removed by Silverfin.
- Following contract termination, deletion of all files will take place in accordance with the agreement.
- Archived files can only be restored by Silverfin staff. See the following article for guidance on how to restore an archived file.
Good to know
- Only users with admin rights can archive a file.
- If you do not have admin rights, please contact an admin user within your organisation.
